I am Gillian Brownlee, Bagpiper, currently of Mandeville, LA. I've been exposed to the Great Highland Bagpipes since birth, and have been playing them professionally since 2004. Nothing helps you learn an instrument quite as much as total immersion - my father plays them, too.
I've played for many weddings, funerals, anniversaries, boat christenings, inaugurations, and birthday parties.
I've played for British nobility (the Duke and Duchess of Hamilton) on both bagpipes and violin.
I've played on the walls of Stirling Castle, in Stirling, Scotland.
I've been on stage and in more parades than I can count with various groups including the Kilts of Many Colours Pipes & Drums in Abita Springs, and Llano Estacado and District Pipe Band in Lubbock, TX.
I also play with Haggis Rampant, with whom I've recorded 4 CDs (you should check out our latest - it's not quite traditional).
